The Inaugral “Wivantow Club” Trip

Many of our residents head to Jugiong for few days of fun and laughter. Wagon train style six caravans and two motorhomes set up camp along the Banks of the Murrumbidgee River. Arrivals were staggered frm Tuesday to Thursday and happy hour on Thursday set the tone for the weekend as all manner of topics were discussed and the World’s problems solved!

Dinner and a then a beautiful Campfire finished off a great day albeit the wind was not playing the game. Friday dawned crisp, clear and windy.

Some ventured to Cootamundra, some to Young and others chilled out beside the River (yep there was water in the Murrumbidgee). Rain fell on several areas around Jugiong, a welcome sight for all.

Dinner on Friday night at the Sir George Hotel in Jugiong. Great pub, cold beer, good wine and good food. Home to the vans and welcome sleep. Friday night it turned cold, 2 degrees celsius. Toes were cold in plenty of vans but all survived and rose on Saturday to the aroma of bacon and eggs on the BBQ.

Easy day was Saturday, much chatter and laughter as Village Friendships were cemented and the “micky” taken if you were not on your guard. Ray and Lorraine ventured to Junee and returned with chocolate frogs and Licorice from the Licorice Factory at Junee (great place for a meal lollies licorice and chocolate). Happy hour commenced as the FINSKA game was played with great enthusiasm. Col and Mick the Finska winners. Saturday night the campfire was lit and the BBQ’s fired up. Great meal around the Campfire. Sunday came too fast and all packed up ready to return to the Village or press on to other destinations. Whilst the weather was cool and windy it did not stop the group from having a wonderful few days.

Special thanks to Jim and Majella and Dennis and Jan who hired Motorhomes to join in.
