R U OK Day Celebrations at Wivenhoe

We all lead busy lives, and R U OK? Day is an important reminder of how valuable it is to check in with those nearest and dearest to us.

At Wivenhoe, we love creating opportunities for our Residents to come together, connect, and support one another. This year, we invited Lifeline Macarthur & Western Sydney to share more about the incredible work they do in our community. The presentation by Glenn, Maria and Alana was very well received, with a number of Residents already expressing interest in becoming involved. Inspired by their message, Kristy & Taryn has also enrolled in their Accidental Counsellor online course.

After the presentation, everyone enjoyed a steady stream of delicious woodfired pizzas from Pizza Alfresco. With over 80 hungry Residents, it was a challenge to keep up - but worth it, as the feedback was glowing! We also trialled fresh fruit salad, lovingly prepared by Kristy and Taryn, and it was such a hit that not a single piece was left. We’ll definitely be adding this to the menu for future events.

Most importantly, R U OK? Day reminded us all of the importance of looking out for one another. It’s OK not to feel OK, and it’s always OK to ask for help. Please remember - we’re only ever a phone call away.
